Defending champion Sparta Boss, Gold is Money, LA Ballers and Alexander Village cruised to easy wins when the annual GT Beer ‘Keep Ya Five Alive’ Futsal Championship continued Saturday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
The holders maintained their perfect record, crushing Ol Skool Ballers 4-0 in the feature affair of the evening.
Similarly, Gold is Money blanked Sophia-[B] by a 6-0 score. Likewise, LA Ballers recorded their first win of the event following their opening night loss, crushing Broad Street 6-1. Also, Alexander Village brushed aside Charlotte Street 4-0.
Meanwhile, North East La Penitence, Sophia-[A], Bent Street, Stabroek Ballers and Beterverwagting [BV] were also amongst the wins.
North East La Penitence edged Upsetters 2-1, while Sophia-[A] downed Spot-[7] 2-1. On the other hand, Bent Street, Stabroek Ballers and BV defeated Showstoppers, Albouystown and Showstoppers via respective 2-1 results.
Below features the complete list of results from the opening night. The event continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of group matches.
The opening match at 19:00hrs will pit Charlotte Street against Ol Skool Ballers, with North East La Penitence tackling Bad-A-Yard at 19:30hrs and Sophia-B opposing Sophia-A from 20:00hrs.
At 20:30hrs, Future Stars take aim at Stabroek Ballers, whilst Albouystown match skills with BV from 21:00hrs and Leopold face-off with Melanie-B at 21:30hrs.
In the final three matches, Back Circle opposes Upsetters at 22:00hrs while Gold is Money tackles Spot-7 from 22:30hrs and Tiger Bay battles Avocado Ballers at 23:00hrs. Winner of the event will pocket $550,000, with the second, third and fourth placed sides collecting $250,000, $125,000 and $75,000 respectively.
