The police said that Headley, an employee of Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited,  was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. At the time of the accident, Headly was the lone occupant of the vehicle with  licence plate number PRR 2531.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the vehicle was proceeding west along the southern carriageway of the road at a reportedly fast rate resulting in a collision with a bridge rail on the southern side of the road.

As a result of the crash, police said Headly sustained injuries about his body. First responders upon arriving on the scene found him  in an unconscious condition. He was removed and rushed to the hospital.

Yesterday at his home his family declined to speak and asked that their time of grief be respected.
