The Ministry of Public Infrastructure (MPI) today said that through its agent,  Power Producers and Distributors Inc. it has successfully transported a replacement engine to Port Kaituma, Region One and relief from power woes could come as early as today.

MPI today said the replacement engine arrived a few months since the community began experiencing fluctuating power outages. The release said that Minister of Public Infrastructure David Patterson sought to remedy this problem by replacing the old engine.

“This engine is anticipated to be installed today and the residents should expect electricity later today or tomorrow”, the release said.

Residents of the community have staged a number of protests over the power supply problems.
