The Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Thursday night intercepted 68 lbs of suspected cannabis after a car chase on the West Demerara and one man is in custody and another is being sought.
CANU tonight said that Azim Ali, 30, of Zeeburg, West Coast Demerara is in custody.
CANU said that Ali, the driver of PPP 7790 along with three other known suspects were transporting suspected cannabis when their vehicle was chased by CANU Ranks. The car was eventually intercepted in De Willem Village and a quantity of suspected narcotics was discovered in the vehicle.
CANU is still in search of the other three suspects.
