Five Courts customers were yesterday rewarded for their participation in a Christmas holiday  promotion. Three received cash prizes of a Million dollars and two won a room makeover valued at $500,000.

The winners Cecelia Abrams, Eondrene Thompson and Elizabeth Wilkinson won $1,000,000 each while Donita Barnwell and Janis Browne, who are winners of the home makeovers, received their prizes at Courts Main Street branch yesterday.

During the Christmas promotion, customers were encouraged to purchase Whirpool appliances to be entered into the promotion.

Courts yesterday said that all customers who shopped $49,999 and over had a chance to participate and win the prizes up for grabs.

The five winners were chosen from across the company’s nationwide stores by a group of external and internal auditors.

“The company is pleased to reward these customers for choosing Courts and looks forward to launching even more exciting promotions that customers will love,” the company said in a statement.

Wilkinson, one of the new millionaires, said she was in shock after she learnt she had  won and did not believe at first. In order for the company to convince her that she had won, she made them call through the Bartica Branch store.

“I have been shopping many years and I never won so when I got the call, I thought it was a prank call. So the same time I was on the road and I walked across to their Bartica branch store and I told them to call the phone there and they call for a second time to tell me I won,” she recounted.

She added that the prize would make her Christmas extremely special and she is elated to know her loyalty has paid off.

Two of the winners did not show up to receive their prizes.

“This Christmas Courts has pulled out all the stops and has really given back to its customers as the company celebrates its 60th year of operations in the Caribbean. It has been a season of big offers, great savings and more and Courts is proud to be giving the best offers this season,” the company said.
