A miner was granted bail yesterday after he denied stealing articles valuing $185,000.

Kendrick Roberts, of 11 Miles, Mahdia and who was celebrating his 43rd birthday yesterday, appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus and pleaded not guilty to a theft charge.

The charge states that between December 4th and December 6th, 2019, at White Hole Backdam, he stole a quantity of mining tools, valued $185,000 and which was the property of Glenford Paul.

With no objections from the police prosecutor, Roberts was released on $60,000 bail. The matter was then transferred to the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court for January 13th, 2020.
