Turfites get ready, in excess of 60 of the nation’s best thoroughbreds have registered to compete at the annual Boxing Day meet scheduled to be staged at the Bush Lot, Corentyne track.
So said President of the Club, Cecil Kennard.
Kennard told this publication yesterday that the nation’s premier steeds, Vera’s Finally, Lucky Star, Settling Star, Just Call Me Boss, T&T, Golden Blue Echo and others will be running in the feature Metro Mile for the $1M first prize.
There traditional Boxing Day event has been a staple for a number of year’s and according to Kennard, this year promises to among the best yet as in excess of $5 is up for grabs.
The seven-race card which starts at 13:00hrs, will kick off with the L Class races (three) followed by the H and lower 1400m event, the I and lower 1400m race, Guyana Bred Maiden Two-Year 1200m race and then the Metro Mile.
Meanwhile, Trophy Stall became the latest entity to support the event, joining Metro Computer and Office Supplies, KSM Investments, Torginal Paints, Muneshwars Limited, Dalip Trading, P&P Insurance and others.
Proprietor of the Trophy Stall Ramesh Sunich, presented the Champion jockey, Champion trainer and runner up champion jockey trophies to Kennard yesterday.
Admission is $1200 for adults and half that amount for children. See you there.
