A man was yesterday granted bail after he was accused of breaking his cousin’s jaw after an argument over ply board.

It is alleged that Josh Charles on April 4th, at Lot 9-10 Rosemary Lane, South Cummingsburg, inflicted grievous bodily harm on Jillian Favourite.

Charles pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him by Magistrate Leron Daly in Georgetown.

Police prosecutor Sanj Singh told the court that on the day in question there was a misunderstanding between Charles and Favourite over ply board in the yard. As a result, Charles allegedly dealt Favourite several punches, which fractured her jaw, and caused a 2 cm separation of her incisor teeth and difficulty for her in opening her mouth.

During the court hearing, Favourite attempted to drop her complaint against Charles but she was unable to speak because of her injuries.

Charles was later granted his release on $80,000 bail. His next hearing is slated for May 10th.
