A driver died on Friday night after losing control of his vehicle along the Rupert Craig Highway.
According to information received, Videsh Singh was the driver of the car, PLL 3706, and was heading east along the Rupert Craig Highway, allegedly at a fast rate, when he lost control of the vehicle. It toppled several times and landed in a drain in the vicinity of the Ocean View Hotel.
The accident occurred around 11.10 pm.
A passenger was pulled from the wreckage by public-spirited citizens. He subsequently told his rescuers that he was not the driver of the vehicle, which led them to search for the driver of the vehicle, whose motionless body was found about 100 feet away from the vehicle in a trench.
Information received stated that attempts were made to resuscitate Singh but proved futile.
