Holding the highest office in Guyana and being a lackey require different qualifications

Dear Editor,

“Professor Hinds ‘explained that he does not believe that academic qualifications should be a criterion for running for office, but that the public should know about the honesty and integrity of those lobbying for their support’” (Stabroek News 4/9/19).  On the other hand, if a handler (controller/chair) chooses a bootlicker as his candidate, then should I beg the question and ask for a bootlicker’s qualification?  And lest we still need assurance, let it be clear – holding the highest office in Guyana and being a lackey require different qualifications. Therefore, we should not quibble over the anointed one’s qualification but focus on why he was chosen as lackey-in-waiting.  Was it at the post office where, for a Guyana dollar, he perfected his imputable skill of sticking out his tongue to lick people’s postage stamps?

Yours faithfully,
