The Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) yesterday showcased their might against hosts Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) in the second semi-final of the Noble House Seafoods Under – 19 Generation Next Cricket Competition, defeating them by 216 runs to set up a finale against the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) 

 DCC, after winning the toss and electing to bat, posted a mammoth 331 for eight from their fifty overs on the back of half-centuries from national youth players Alphius Bookie, Sachin Singh and skipper Ashmead Nedd.

Dequan Bamfield got the ball to sway early on for DCC

 Bookie, who top scored with a knock of 72 inclusive of seven fours and five sixes, shared in an even century stand with Singh who cracked 71 after unleashing seven fours and four maximums. Nedd played a finishing role at the end to score an unbeaten 53 decorated with five boundaries while Osapha Green (34) also provided quick runs at the bottom.

Left-arm spinner Daniel Mootoo led the demolition with figures of 3-31 while seam bowling pair Qumar Torrington (2-23) and Dequan Bamfield (2-34) provide early inroads.

10 overs to lead MSC attack while seamer Jeremiah Scott (2-49) played the support role for MSC who were routed for 115 inside 24 overs. Only national under – 15 batsman Shamar Yearwood (27), Bollers (26) and Scott (20) got into the twenties but failed to carry on.
