Seamer Keon Roberts produced a match-winning spell of seam bowling to bowl the University of Guyana (UG) to a commanding 146-run win over Diplomats in the latest round of the Noble House Seafoods two-day second division tournament against Diplomats at the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) on Sunday. 

 The day began with Diplomats resuming on 187-6, still trailing UG by 114 runs. Skipper Nigel Simpson who was unbeaten on 71, only added 18 runs to his overnight score, missing out on a century as his side was dismissed for 234 in 57.2 overs to hand UG a 67-run lead.

 Off-spinner Ershad Ali (3-39) was UG’s most successful bowler. UG who secured a useful first inning lead, were dismissed for 176 in their second inning as seamer Rayson Gill (5-65) held a consistent line and tormented the students with his nagging control. 

 Skipper Keirre Henry, glued the innings together and top scored with 40 while Roberts (34) and Godfrey Thakurdin (30) supported.
