A mesmerising spell of off-spin bowling by 15-year-old Ezekiel Wilson, piloted host, the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) into the final of the GCA/American Youth Premier Cricket League Under-19 Cricket Competition after they completed a six-wicket win over the Transport Sports Club (TSC), yesterday.

TSC, who won the toss and elected to bat, had no answer for Wilson who operated with the new ball and held a nagging line, nabbing 9-19 – which included a hat-trick – to spearhead TSC’s demise for 58 inside 16 overs.

Leg-spinner Jafa Pinder (1-14) got the other wicket that fell.

The haul was Wilson’s second career five-wicket or more haul following his 5-27 in the opening round of the tournament against the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO).

DCC in response reached 60-4 in 19.1 overs with the inform Alphius Bookie ending unbeaten on 29 to see his side over the line as off-spinner Joel Spooner (4-22) produced another tidy spell for the visitors.

DCC will take on either the Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) or Tri-State in today’s final.
