Armageddon sound clash for National Park tonight

Tonight, the National Park tarmac will be transformed into a musical battleground as Empire Media Inc hosts what it describes as its biggest ever sound clash, Armageddon 2020, themed ‘War of all Wars’.

The clash will feature six champion sound systems battling for $1 million, a trophy and bragging rights.

According to a release from the company, the event is in its fourth year and is known for being a sold-out event.

Facing off tonight will be Notorious International, Firehouse International, Exodus Nuclear, Trinity Sound, Dynamq Sound from South Sudan, Africa and Kanabis Sound from Antigua.

“Armageddon promises to be explosive with musical talent since the six champions will be going head to head,” the release said.

The clash will have five rounds which DJs will be using to guide the competition.

Round 1: Introduction Round (Dubs & 45s)

Round 2: Round of Steel (Dubplates only)

Round 3: Sounds of Steel (Dubplates only)

Round 4: Challenge Round with face off

Round 5: Dub for Dub (Dubplates only)

The clash starts at 10 pm. Judging will be done by the fans for rounds 1, 2, 3 and 5. A panel of three judges will judge round 4.

Tickets for the event cost $2,000 and are available at White Castle Fish Shop, Wings & Things (Mandela Avenue), Grill Kings (Mandela Avenue) and Nigel’s Supermarket (Robb St)
