Jamaica: Suspected murderer gunned down in his own home

(Jamaica Star) A man who police confirm was accused of being involved in last Wednesday’s shooting death of taxi operator Karl Senior, was shot and killed by armed men at his home in Duncans, last Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Demario Griffiths, otherwise called ‘Biggie’, labourer of Red Ground in Duncans.

Reports by the Duncans police are that about 6:20 p.m. Griffiths and his twin brother were at their home in Red Ground, when armed men entered the premises.

The men attacked Griffiths who was standing in the kitchen and shot him multiple times, but he managed to run to a bedroom where he collapsed. The other brother managed to escape unhurt and summoned the police.

Upon the arrival of the lawmen, Griffiths was discovered lying in a pool of blood with more than eight gunshot wounds to his body.

He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Last Wednesday, the bullet-riddled body of 68-year-old Senior, of Kettering district, was discovered at a location in that community about 6:30 a.m.

The Trelawny police confirmed Saturday’s incident and stated that they too have heard the allegations that Griffiths was in some way involved in Senior’s murder and are investigating if there was some link.

Trelawny has recorded five murders since the start of 2020.
