Region 10 says second COVID-19 case confirmed

The Health and Emergency Committee, Region Ten this afternoon confirmed its second positive case of COVID-19 in the region.

In a release, it said that this confirmation was made by the Medical Superintendent of the Linden Hospital Complex Dr. Joseph London, who said that the individual who tested positive in the region has been transferred to a facility at the Diamond Regional Hospital, East Bank Demerara.

The release noted that samples were recently taken from the 29-year-old woman who exhibited mild symptoms of the virus. It was noted that the woman hails from the area that the first case was identified at.

The Committee said that the region continues to keep an aggressive approach to combatting the spread of the virus in the region.
