Guyana confirms six more COVID-19 cases

The number of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Guyana has risen to 63, with 18 new cases being recorded in this week alone, Public Health Minister Volda Lawrence announced this afternoon.

In an update, Lawrence said the numbers are climbing rapidly and urged persons against holding any gatherings now that the weekend is here.

The latest number represents an increase of six over the 57 cases that had been recorded by the end of Thursday. So far, six persons have died due to the disease.
