The police are investigating the murder of a 68-year-old security guard, whose partially nude body was discovered in the Le Repentir Cemetery early this morning and a suspect has since been arrested.
Dead is Margaret Dawson, a security guard attached to the Professional Guard Service, who resides at Curtis Street, Albouystown Georgetown.
Commander of Region 4(A) Phillip Azore confirmed the discovery to Stabroek News.
He said at this point, information remains sketchy.
Stabroek News understands that Dawson who guards a private residence in Lamaha Gardens was on her way to work when she was killed.
The elderly woman worked the 7 pm to 7 am shift and was last seen alive by relatives on Sunday.
The gruesome discovery was made by a passerby. Dawson, this newspaper was told, would normally use the road situated in the cemetery since it’s a shorter route to get a minibus.
