West Coast Berbice man on the run after allegedly shooting girlfriend

A West Coast Berbice man is now on the run after he allegedly shot his girlfriend in the face yesterday morning resulting in her being admitted to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital in a serious condition. 

Devlin Garraway, 28, was rushed from her house in Number 30 Village, West Coast Berbice, to the Fort Wellington Hospital yesterday just around 9.30 am. She was then subsequently transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where she was admitted in a serious condition as of yesterday afternoon. 

Her father, Leon Robertson, of Hopetown Village, West Coast Berbice, said Garraway, a mother of three, sustained a shot to her face, “She responding but she can’t talk because the jaw broken. The shot pass through the jaw”, he noted.

Commander of Region Five, Yonette Stephens, yesterday noted, that the police were still on the hunt for the suspect.

Yesterday afternoon, the police issued a wanted bulletin for the suspect, Julian Arthur.

The police listed the suspect’s last known address to be Sophia, Greater Georgetown and asked that anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Arthur to contact the police on telephone numbers 333-2151, 333-5564, 333-3876, 226-6978, 225-8196, 226-2870, 226-7065, 227-1149, 226-7065, 911 or the nearest police station.
