Jennifer Cipriani, the co-owner of Reliable Automo-tive Service and Acme Marketing Consultancy, was on Monday robbed after dropping her sister off at their parents’ residence at Agricola.

Cipriani, 48, told Stabroek News that she had just dropped her sister home and was making her way back to her vehicle to gather some empty bottles to take to her mother when the attack occurred.

The mother of two explained that just around 3 pm, a man, armed with “a really big knife,” demanded she hand over her bag, which he later cut from her shoulder.

She said while there were two of them, only one had a weapon. She recalled “the other one was like an accomplice; he was just standing by and collected the bag.”

Cipriani said her bag contained her bank card, driver’s licence, cell phone and about $20,000 in cash.

She said the robbery was first reported to the Agricola Police Outpost and later at the Ruimveldt Police Station.

Police Commander of Region Four (A) Senior Superintendent Phillip Azore, informed this newspaper that the police are intensifying their efforts and are working to address such attacks in a number of areas.

He also noted that as of yesterday morning they were efforts being made in the Kitty/Campbellville area and Sophia.
