Old lessons on lying

Dear Editor,

Permit me to share some old lessons on lying as taught by my long deceased parents.

My mother Linda: “a liar must have a good memory”.  It therefore follows that we must remember that promises made, or oaths sworn to, should be kept.

My father Albert: “a liar is a coward and a thief”.

Just in case those lessons may have escaped us in our life, one must remember the 11th Commandment (author unknown) “Thou shalt not be found out”.

Our current situation prompts the question:  Caretaker of whose interest?

Father God deliver us your Guyanese people, from all that may be evil.

Yours faithfully,

Albert Rodrigues, Jnr.
