Indian Action Committee congratulates Ali

Dear Editor,

The Indian Action Committee (IAC) is extremely pleased to congratulate His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali PhD on his accession to the Executive Presidency of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, being the ninth person to hold the highest office of this country.

The IAC, a registered non-governmental organization which deals with the issues and concerns of persons of Indo-Guyanese and mixed Indo-Guyanese origin, and which promotes and preserves Indian culture in Guyana, recognizes President Ali as the first adherent of Islam to hold this office.

The IAC hopes that President Ali can move quickly to mitigate the massive amount of damage done to the socio-economic situation of Guyana that has occurred over the past five years; and the enormous tearing apart of the ethnic fabric of the country that ensued after 2nd March 2020.

The IAC urges President Ali to take full control of the health crisis in Guyana given the dangerous ability of COVID-19 to destabilize the entire country.

The IAC is fully confident that President Ali possesses all of the necessary qualities to repair the destruction that has been visited upon Guyana due to the past five years of gross mismanagement.

The IAC also welcomes the new First Lady and her son and extends to them the best wishes of the organization.

The IAC wishes President Ali and his new government the greatest success in their future endeavours to bring economic development to this country while ensuring peace and harmony amongst the citizens in the quest for national reunification.

Yours faithfully,

Saira Alli

IAC Secretary
