Congratulations to the new Government, and I wish President Irfaan Ali great success in his tenure.
I want to bring to the attention of the Government and more so the minister of local government, the waste disposal crisis that Good Hope Phase two and three is currently in. I am not sure why the NDC is not doing anything to remove the many garbage heaps at the side of all roads, especially the sideline road. Editor, while I understand that the members of the community are solely responsible for their waste disposal, there are a few residents that are dumping garbage indiscriminately. I am calling on the authorities and the NDC to do more to sensitize and educate residents about solid waste management and start a campaign thereafter to prosecute persons that are continuing to litter without regard for the environment and fellow residents.
