Dear Editor,
I read with dismay that SOCU will not be proceeding with 19 fraud charges levelled against President Irfaan Ali.
Is it because of lack of evidence or because of political pressure?
Guyanese expect proper closure of this matter not some wishy-washy statement that says that the charges have been dropped because the President needs to look good and travel.
It is clear that the charges would not succeed that is why they were dropped.
I appeal to SOCU to reinstate the charges if it can be proven that Irfaan Ali acted illegally or else Guyanese will see the charges as a vindictive witch hunt by the PNC-led APNU+AFC against the PPP/C.
