I doan learn

Dear Editor,

My parents and people were right.  Damn right, you got that straight!   Meh ears hard and meh head harder.  I doan learn.  I doan grow up; the older ah get, the more stupid ah get.

Yuh wud tink dat I gon larn.  Dis wan, same wan.  New one ole wan.  Meh PNCeee fren dem must be chortling.  Gud fuh yuh!  We deh tel yuh!  But like Your own people did say (God bless them) ‘yuh aaaze (ears for the purists and linguists in the midst) hard.  Yuh doan lissen.  You stupid!  You playin stupid.

A friend told me a while back, ‘do not trust Granger.’ I did.  I am wondering who Guyana is going to trust now.  With trustees like these, we are in for ally and untold misery.  And here I am, a resident, who could have been president, only to end up being a dissident.  What a waste!  What a joke!  What a joke I would have been.  But I tell you this, Editor, I would have been an honest president.  A clean one.  An inclusive one.  And before anybody get any ideas, I am not running for anything, lobbying for nothing.   Am just being me: plain stupid.

How stupid can any man get?  I seem to remember: unity, transparency, accountability.  Ha! Ha! Ha!  Somebody must copy from my book.  Ah get tired of me foolishness.  I am more tired of the lying leaders and the lies deh tell.  Dm duz prapah lie.  Deh lie baad.  Wah is dah song bout some lion and he foolishness?

I ask the people at SN and KN to pray for me.  I am aware that some doan beeleeve in gawd.  Ow! Lawd!

Yours faithfully,

GHK Lall
