The sitcom, “Days Like Dese”, recently returned to television as a COVID-19 themed show, and the series’ third episode was aired yesterday.

The “Days Like Dese” cast, a community of notable actors, now offers an informative and entertaining programme to educate the public on combatting the COVID crisis.

Kirk Jardine and Rochelle Christie are part of the creative team and are guided in their scriptwriting by producer of “Days Like Dese”, Gem Madhoo-Nascimento.

A new episode is aired weekly on 21 television stations countrywide including Bartica, Charity, Linden and Upper Corentyne. Berbice alone has five stations airing the sitcom. Once each episode is completed, it is uploaded to YouTube.

According to Madhoo-Nascimento, it is a challenging task producing the show amidst a pandemic having to ensure that both cast and crew abide by the COVID guidelines. “… Not too many cast members in one episode, no physical contact for actors except in cases where they are direct family members involved, all crew are masked and actors if they have to be close at least one is wearing a mask. If there is actual touching in a scene, sanitizer wipes and spray are readily on hand for use after the scene,” Madhoo-Nascimento said in a release.

“Days Like Dese” is supported by Toolsie Persaud Ltd, Chung’s Global Inc, Church’s Chicken, Infinity Service Station, Nand Persaud & Co Ltd, NALICO/NAFICO Insurance Co Ltd, Guyana Power and Light, GAICO Construction & General Services, Guyana Revenue Authority, JB Consultancy and NAMILCO.
