Perpetrators of Crum-Ewing murder must  be brought to justice

Dear Editor,

The recent letter in the press that speaks of the death of Courtney Crum-Ewing and the lack of completion of the investigation into his murder under the Granger Administration was quite enlightening. As an alumni of Queen’s College and someone who knew Courtney I can assure you that many of his friends and colleagues made adjustments to their lives to help those who were supposedly helping Courtney rest in peace. It is of utmost importance that the ex Granger Administration make an official statement as to the status and mentioned lack of closure of the investigation into the death of our fellow Queen’s College Alumni. It is also my hope that the current Attorney General who is also a fellow alumni of Queen’s College and who is also someone who went to school with Courtney, takes up this case and pursues closure of this investigation into the untimely death and murder of one of our own. The time for the COI that the current AG had called for previously has come.

To not have closure after five long years is unacceptable, and the perpetrators of this crime need to be brought before the courts. President Granger forgot that it was the wave of sentiment and grief behind the death of someone who was also his fellow soldier that aided him and his coalition to be elected in 2015. To not have brought definitive closure to the murder of Courtney is a matter of gross neglect, ingratitude and lack of concern for ensuring justice is done. This cannot continue indefinitely. The current administration must ensure that closure to this case occurs under its leadership.
