US-based Guyanese Dennis ‘Dan D’ France has released three new singles.

The Rhythm and Blues and Pop singer/songwriter’s latest songs are “You Left Me”, “She Lickin”, and “We Got Oil” and follow on the heels of the release of his previous release, “Let’s Celebrate Guyana,” which was premiered in time for this year’s Mashramani.

‘You Left Me” tells the story of broken relationships while “She Lickin” was penned following an event where Dan D once sat on a train across from someone who hurriedly ate their takeout food and he turned it into a funny song. “We Got Oil” is self-explanatory: it details Guyana’s recent oil find. This song and four others were composed in 2018.

Dan D said the three releases are Reggae and Calypso pieces and are part of his album ‘Never Too Late’. The album was given that name because of Dan D’s personal experience in following his dreams to be a singer. “The title of the [album] is if you have something in mind, it’s not too late to do it, especially if it contributes to the arts. It might not be rewarding but try to live your dream,” he had said in a prior interview.

He explained that the plan was to have the album released in May of this year as it was ready since last year but owing to a delay with record producer Phillip Nichols, of Philgloton Studios in Brooklyn, it is still to be released.

The COVID-19 pandemic has also affected the musician, who has lost several people he knew. “The pandemic has put a damper on things. Some of the people I knew passed on…[which] has affected my enthusiasm to compose lyrics. It’s a slow process. There is a lot of uncertainty going forward and entertainment is being changed in many ways. But I hope to release some more songs in the months ahead..,” the singer said.
