Demerara Waves stands by its report

Dear Editor,

Demerara Waves Online News (www.demwaves.com) disagrees outright with Mr. GHK Lall in his letter titled  `There is a paper trail for miners to prove the source of their gold’ published in the Stabroek News edition of 21st October, 2020.

For ease of reference, Mr. Lall seeks to discredit a Demerara Waves article titled “US keeping eye on gold smuggling from Venezuela – Kozak” published on October 19, 2020 here https://demerarawaves.com/2020/10/19/us-keeping-eye-on-gold-smuggling-from-venezuela-kozak/

Demerara Waves stands by its report, unless he or the Guyana Gold Board can prove that every speck of gold dust, every pennyweight, every ounce that are sold to the Board originates from the sovereign territory of Guyana. Give us instances in which the origin of every quantity of gold sold to the Board is verified.

Demerara Waves Online News and News-Talk Radio Guyana 103.1 FM pride themselves as reporting fairly and accurately.

Yours faithfully,

Denis Chabrol
