The Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Prison Service on Tuesday conducted a joint search at the Lusignan Prison where a number of contraband items were unearthed.
Among the items found were: a quantity of improvised weapons, a tattoo machine, a plastic bag containing sugar, eighteen containers of homemade wine, a Guinness bottle, twenty-two lighters, fifteen cellular phones without SIM cards, a quantity of wire, seven cellular phone batteries, one cannabis plant, a bottle of pepper, a screw driver, and a vandalised telephone.
