I am persuaded ICJ ruling responded succinctly and holistically to the issue raised

Dear Editor,

Our democratic dispensation troubles me, not because of its neonate fundamentals, but its exposition to the unappreciative artisans who demonstrate their utter unfamiliarly with its quintessential architecture. Fortunately, we are yet blessed with others who, seised of a collage of learning, limn the relevant picture from which judgments of the kind emanating from the ICJ may be best comprehended.

Viewed through a prismatic advantage consequent upon exposure during five decades in the field especially of law-professional practice, Executive, Parliamentary and Judicial experience – it did not surprise me to read and accept the reactive enucleation of Messrs Paul Reichler and Professor Phillipe Sands Q.C. in SN dated 23rd December, 2020.

Wearing my quondam judicial hat, I am persuaded that the ICJ Ruling responded succinctly and holistically to the issue raised. Intrinsic to the 1899 Award is the consequential identification by way of demarcation, on the ground, by universally acceptable measurements, of the geography of the two contiguous countries.

Cadit Quaestio.

 Yours faithfully

Justice Charles R. Ramson, S.C O.R

Former Attorney General and Minister of Legal
