Chateau Margot man arrested over unlicensed revolver

Police on Friday arrested a 43-year-old man following the discovery of an unlicensed firearm on the verandah of his Chateau Margot, East Coast Demerara (ECD) home.

According to a police press release, the discovery was made around 3.45 pm during an intelligence-led operation. The police said the operation uncovered a .38 revolver and matching rounds.

The homeowner reportedly told the police that he found the firearm at the St. Cuthbert’s Mission trail.

He was arrested and taken to the Cove and John Police Station, where he remains in custody.

The firearm has been  lodged.
