Brazilian national dies after ATV accident in Mazaruni

A Brazilian national died after he lost control of an ATV at Oku Trail Mazaruni on Monday.

A police report stated that Raimunda Alves DeSouza, the 58-year-old driver of the ATV, died after he lost control of the vehicle.

The report added that at about 12:15pm, the ATV bearing registration number CJ 1817, overturned while ascending a hill, pinning the man under the vehicle.

As a result of the accident DeSouza suffered injuries about his body. He was taken to the Bartica Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The body of the deceased is currently at Lyken’s Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem examination.
