Flash drives, milk stolen from service commissions secretariat

Four flash drives and a quantity of Ensure milk have been reported missing from the Police/Public Service Commission Secretariat sometime between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.

According to a police report, the larceny occurred sometime between 16:40hrs on January 18 and 07:15hrs on January 19, at Fort Street, Kingston. The flash drives are said to contain information on dismissals, transfers, promotions, pension qualifications, and appointments for employees of the various ministries and regions.

Investigations revealed that an employee who arrived at work on Tuesday about 7.15am discovered that his desk drawer was pried open and the contents of his drawer ransacked. Upon checking further, it was discovered that the desk drawers of four other officers had also been tampered with.

There were no obvious signs of forced entry, however, a window above a toilet situated at the southern side of the building was discovered open

Fingerprints were lifted from the scene of the incident and several persons were questioned. Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner Royston Andries-Junor, when contacted, said that no one has yet been arrested but the probe into the incident continues.
