The police are investigating the death of an Aruka Mouth, North West District woman, who was found hanging at her residence on Monday.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said in a brief statement that Mahyila Ann Joseph, 23, of Aruka Mouth, was found dead by a family member.
Enquiries revealed that at about 12.30 pm, Joseph was conversing with family members in their yard but later went into the house, where she was later found hanging.
According to the statement, the police were called and the body was transported to the Mabaruma Regional Hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead.
Her body is presently lying at the Mabaruma mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
