The police are searching for two men who robbed a 27-year-old Sophia resident of her motorcycle on Friday night and shot in her direction during the attack.
According to the Guyana Police Force, the attack unfolded at Dennis Street and Stone Avenue, where Munifa Erskine, of Block X, Liliendaal, South Sophia, was relieved of her motorcycle, CK 1906, valued $178,000.
The police said their investigations revealed that Erskine was proceeding east along Dennis Street and as she was approaching Stone Avenue, the men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, rode up alongside her.
The pillion rider allegedly kicked Erskine’s motorcycle, causing her to fall to the ground.
One of the men dismounted their motorcycle, took out the handgun and discharged a round in Erskine’s direction, the police said.
The suspects made good their escape with both bikes.
