Bystander shot dead during row at Albouystown shop

A row in a shop at Albouystown left a 54-year-old man dead yesterday when he was shot in the face by a stray bullet.

Dead is Aulden Cush, called ‘Alligator.’

According to the Guyana Police Force, the murder occurred at about 4.42 pm at Cooper Street, Albouystown, between James Street and Independence Boulevard.

Cush had gone to a shop on the western side of Cooper Street to purchase cigarettes. While he was at the shop two men started arguing and one of them eventually pulled out a gun and fired a round in the direction of the other man.

However, the bullet struck Cush on the right side of his face after which the two men escaped on foot. Cush was pronounced dead at the scene by an EMT crew.
