Honourable mention not award more deserving for former minister

Dear Editor,

The call for a former minister to be considered for the recently named accolade in honour of democracy cannot get my wholehearted support. While the former minister must be commended for his stance on the blatant attempts by his government to rig and steal the 2020 elections, however, the same minister was silent and benefitted from the many attempts to remain in office following the successful passage of the NCM, including the ludicrous claim that 33 is not the half of 65, which went all the way to the apex court. I am of the view the category ‘Honorable Mention’ is more deserving of the former minister.

Sincerely,

Shamshun Mohamed
