The Guyana Police Force today between 7.20 am and 12:30 pm, conducted a ganja eradication exercise in the swamp lands about six miles aback Yarrowkabra Village, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

The police said that the exercise was led by three officers and eight other ranks. During the exercise, approximately 7689 marijuana plants between three to five feet in height were razed by fire. A marking of the location could not be done to ascertain land ownership due to a lack of relevant equipment. There was no reported incident as no one was in the area at the time of the raid.
