The Berbice Cricket Board/Zulfikar Mustapha Under-15 tournament continued last week with several promising players putting in outstanding performances.

The tournament is currently at the round robin stage with 18 teams vying for  quarter-final spots.

Two teams will advance from Zone A (West Berbice), three from Zone B (New Amsterdam/Canje) and Zone C (Lower/ Upper Corentyne) will move on.

Dorren George scored a blistering century to steer Edinburgh to a 255-run win over Guymine.

Edinburgh posted 295 for seven from 40 overs with George top scoring with 111. He was supported by Wesley Castello (35) and Troy David (30).

D. Hope bagged 3-53.

In reply, Guymine were routed for 44 in 10.5 overs with C. Cort taking 3-14.

Edinburgh also defeated Tucber Park by six wickets as Danish Persaud (4-24) and M. Cort (2-5) restricted Tucber Park to 72 all out in 20 overs. George returned to make 17 and lead Edinburgh to 73 for the loss of four wickets in 12 overs.

Edinburgh, however, could not get past Rose Hall Canje, slipping to a 140-run loss.

Rose Hall Canje posted 173 from 45.4 overs with Zadeem Larose and Adrian Hetmyer making 36 and 19 respectively. Castello took 3-32 and Persaud 2-41. Edinburgh were bowled out for 33 with David the lone batsman to reach double figures.

Romario Ramdehol took 6-9 and Aaron Craig 4-19.

Rose Hall Canje continued their winning ways when the beat Tucber Park by 138 runs.

Rose Hall Caje posted 187 with Craig top scoring with 35 while Romario Ramdehol made 28.

They then dismissed Tucber Park for 49. Craig bagged 4-17 while Hetmyer took 3 wickets for four runs.

RH Canje completed a hat trick of victories with a seven-wicket win over Kendall’s Union. Kendall’s Union were contained to 65 all out, Ramdehol taking 5-24. Larose made 24 to see RH Canje to 66 for three in 11 overs.

Over in West Berbice, Achievers defeated Cotton Tree by 196 runs. Tulsieram Ramcharran (43) and E. Rogers (41) saw Achievers to 218 all out.

A. Khan and A. Bacchus took four wickets each.

In reply, Cotton Tree were skittled for 28 with Ramcharran taking 7-7 in seven overs.

Cotton Tree also suffered a 70-run defeat to Blairmont. Blairmont posted 123 all out with R. Shiragon (27) and N. Saffar (21) top scoring.

Bacchus (6-30) and S. Gafoor (4-28) led with the ball for Cotton Tree, who were  bowled out for 53.

Cotton Tree bounced back to beat Paradise by two wickets with Khan and A. Ramkumar taking three wickets each to bowl out Paradise for 81. Cotton Tree then scampered to 82 for eight with A. Khan top scoring with 21 and T. Conelley taking 5-24.

Paradise remained winless after losing to Achievers by 102 runs. Ramcharran made 74 to see Achievers to 228 for five from 35 overs before Justin Doobay bagged 6-20 to see Paradise restricted to 126 all out.

Like Paradise, Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA) B suffered two losses. First, at the hands of Port Mourant UCCA B lost by 10 wickets as Romel Budwah bagged 5-10 to see them bowled out for 27 in 14 overs.

Meanwhile, against Albion, UCCA B lost by 198 runs. Dhanesh Prabhudiyal and Afraz Budhoo made 61 and 48 respectively to see Albion post 264 for six from 30 overs. UCCA B were then bowled out for 66 with Devin Lalbehari bagging 7-12 and Budhoo taking 3-34.
