Two sisters have been admitted to the Linden Hospital Complex nursing multiple injuries, including burns and a broken limb, after an attack was launched by the boyfriend of one of them.

According to a Guyana Police Force report, the perpetrator’s girlfriend and her sister were at his home when an argument erupted. They attack started after his girlfriend refused to enter the passcode to unlock her phone.

The report stated that the perpetrator, whose request was denied, armed himself with a mug of boiling water and threw it on his girlfriend, causing her to suffer second degree burns to the right side of her face.

The man later armed himself with a piece of wood and dealt the woman a blow to her head, causing her to receive further injuries.
