The Ministry of Health today said that five more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 289.
The latest fatalities are a 79-year-old male from Region 3 (Essequibo Islands–West Demerara), a 70-year-old female from Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), a 46-year-old male from Region 6 (East Berbice-Corentyne) and a 72-year-old female and a 46-year-old male from Region 4 (Demerara-Mahaica). They died while receiving care at the ministry’s medical facility.
