Body of Strathspey man found in trench

The partially decomposed body of a 46-year-old Strathspey, East Coast Demerara (ECD) resident was yesterday morning discovered floating in a trench at Buxton, ECD.

The dead man has been identified as Shelton Henry called ‘Jim’ of Lot 202 Area ‘G’ Strathspey, ECD.

Police yesterday confirmed the discovery which was made around 9am.

According to the police, reports revealed that Henry is an alcoholic.

Enquiries, the police said revealed that Henry was last seen lying on Company Road, Buxton on Tuesday afternoon. He was intoxicated.

The police added that villagers yesterday observed Henry’s body floating in a trench that runs north to south on the eastern half of Company Road Buxton, ECD.

There were no visible marks of violence about his body.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted soon to determine how Henry met his demise.
