The outlook is exciting and Industrial Hemp is seen as a top contender that could significantly stimulate Guyana’s economy once the Irfaan Ali led administration remove the barriers swiftly for its cultivation and processing. We can absolutely change Guyana and the world with Industrial Hemp. It is amazing and there are so many ways to succeed. Hemp Youth Guyana, a group lobbying for the legalization of Industrial Hemp which is not Marijuana is optimistic that Industrial Hemp production could help the country’s farmers tap into the lucrative global Industrial Hemp market and get much needed foreign exchange.
We are looking forward for the government to give the no objection soon for Industrial Hemp production for the country can rake in about US$1 billion in the next few years by capturing a share in the booming Industrial Hemp global market. The Industrial Hemp Market is presently worth about US$25 billion globally as several countries are relaxing the laws and it is time for Guyana to follow suit. Hemp’s future as a major cash crop in the country is very bright and the next bold move in Agriculture is Industrial Hemp and we are well positioned for it. Hemp Youth Guyana remains optimistic and believe that Guyana has the potential to emerge as an industry leader in the Industrial Hemp Sector and the Government needs to re-move the barriers now to ensure Sustainability. Let’s move fast on the legalization of Industrial Hemp in Guyana for it will provide thousands of new jobs at all income levels, create dozens of new industries, build our national and regional economies and help eradicate poverty. Hemp holds vast potential in Guyana.
