Chainsaw operator dies after falling ill

A chainsaw operator died on Wednesday after complaining of feeling unwell while at Aurora Grant Backdam, Essequibo Coast.

The deceased was identified as Ronaldo Morris Williams, 52, of Lake Mainstay, Essequibo Coast.

The police, in a report, stated that Williams went to work on Tuesday at about 4.39 pm along with other colleagues.

However, on Wednesday at about 12 pm at Aurora Grant Backdam, he complained about feeling a pain in his chest and requested some water.

The report said he started coughing and fell to the ground with slime coming out of his mouth before he lost consciousness.

He was picked up by co-workers, placed on a tractor and rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival around 11.40 pm.

The death was reported to the Suddie Police Station and Williams’ body was transported to the Suddie Hospital Mortuary where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
