Dancehall singer Curtly ‘Kurt Lee’ Lake on Thursday dropped another single, “Nah Leff” with a video for the song slated to be out next weekend.

“Nah Leff ‘’ was a project collaborated on with AJ Studios and the expected video is a medley with a number of artistes, including Stiffy Stiff, Lightning Flash, Shatcalla, and Rxxdical, singing various parts of the song.

“Nah Leff”, which was written a little over a month ago, is a story of a couple whose respective friends are on a mission to create a rift between them. However, their relationship remains steadfast.

According to Kurt Lee, the song is a reflection of 90s Dancehall, when Shabba Ranks ruled the scene. With the artistes involved in the song being part of the 2000s music arena, the song is referred to as the 90s/2000s Dancehall rhythm.

The song was released this week on YouTube and is expected to be uploaded to all other musical platforms soon.

Kurt Lee shared that his only option to make any money right now is to have his songs uploaded to the musical platforms. As people stream and view, he gets paid. He added that it is not much, but over time, he manages to make a small profit.

The singer shared his disappointment that  artistes are leaving Guyana to pursue their careers in music. He noted that it is not likely they will return and invest in their country when they were not getting the support to start with. As such he is calling on the relevant authorities to look into the local industry.

Though there is not much to make from it, Kurt Lee said he is always working on his music. Come August he will be collaborating with Jamaican artist, Nique Banging.
