Like a good neighbour, Fitness Express is always there for the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF).

Yesterday, the company’s CEO, Jamie McDonald handed over a financial pact of a substantial sum to be the main sponsor of the Claude Charles Memorial Master’s and Intermediate Powerlifting Championships.

The event gets underway from 08:00hrs on Sunday at St Stanislaus College.

McDonald, who has been a long standing benefactor of numerous disciplines, has once again decided to shoulder the corporate load of the strength sport.

He presented the cheque to newly elected President of the federation, Gordon Spencer who thanked McDonald for his continued show of support.

On Sunday, patrons can also look forward to seasoned veterans in the Masters 1, 2, and 3 classes chalking it up and doing battle on the platform.

Several young strongmen and women are also expected to vie for supremacy in the Intermediate Category while special guest lifter, Carlos Petterson-Griffith has already signaled his intentions to smash records.
