The Ministry of Health today said that as August 06, 2021, two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 556.
The latest fatalities are two females, a 55-year-old from Region 6 (East Berbice-Corentyne)and a 79-year-old from Region 4 (Demerara-Mahaica). They both died while receiving care at the ministry’s medical facility.
Meanwhile, 89 new cases have been reported and 18 persons are in the ICU.
