A father will always listen to his children

Dear Editor,

We all know that the entire world is facing a pandemic and our lives has been disrupted. Our lives will never be the same ever again.  Many families have lost love ones, some are still grieving some are still suffering from this dreadful virus. Some are without hope some of us just give up. You, Mr. President, and father of this wonderful nation wants to keep us safe and protected, you understand what this hateful virus has done to your children.  So with the advent of vaccines rolled out, what father would not want to take the opportunity to make sure his children are vaccinated and protected from this vicious virus? Some of your children listen and took the vaccines, but some did not. I know it seems reckless and selfish, a disservice to the medical team and a dishonor to those who lost their lives to this pandemic. But those who refused are not without reasons. And because I know a father loves all his children I believe he would want to understand why the rest of his children refused to take the vaccine. They would hope he listen and understands. There are many reasons, religious beliefs, afraid, anxiety, no trust in the vaccine unanswered questions, not sufficient information etc. These children are hoping that you, their father, can meet at a middle ground. We believe that a father would never force his children to do something against their will because he is their father and loves them. We believe and know you will find another way to help the rest of your children to be safe and not feel forced in doing anything against their fundamental beliefs etc.,   Dear Mr. President and father of our nation. My humble suggestion is that we have more forum and greater flow of information. Also, I would suggest that those who are not ready to be vaccinated can take the test every three or four months. Not everyone can afford a $25,000 PCR test but most people can put aside a 2,000 or a 1,500 dollars a month or, better yet, employers can make sure they do and take the other test until they become comfortable to take the vaccine. Also, since there are five working days in week for Government work I suggest we mandate working days for the vaccinated and PCR tested.  Vaccinated persons can work two days a week and PCR negative persons three days or the other way around or there can be morning and the afternoon shifts. These are just a few suggestions. Dear father I hope you understand. I am not rich, I am a working class individual, and all I have that is valuable and worthy to me is my faith in God, my word of honor, integrity, my family, my work and my sprinkle of friends. But most importantly the gift of free will and freedom of choice. And my dear father, I plead with you not to allow anyone to take away this gift from anyone. I pray that you find a way and I know you will. With great respect and honour of who and what this office represents I humbly leave this message and I hope you get to read this message. Sincerely one of your Children, one of your daughters. Thank you, Mr. President, and God bless always.

Sincerely,

Shamain Liverpool
