Four charged with murder of Sophia man

Four persons were today charged with the murder of Keon McPherson, who was found dead in a ‘C’ Field, Sophia yard with gunshot wounds about his body a week ago.

The accused: Nicholas Hercules, called ‘Bucko’; Brenna Nurse; Devon Harry and Peter Lam, all appeared before Magistrate Alisha George at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to them.

They were not required to plead to the charge and were remanded to prison until September 17th, 2021, when the matter will be called again.

It is believed that McPherson, 25, of Lot 687 ‘D’ Field, Sophia was killed due to his involvement in a triangular relationship and that he had been lured to the location and ambushed.

An autopsy later showed that he died as a result of a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
